The Verve provides excellent performance and speed potential while maintaining unprecedented stability, pilot comfort and flying easiness. Intensive development together with the testing of many prototypes resulted in the creation of an extraordinary glider. Precise handling guarantees effective climbing in thermals. Gliding throughout the speed range is exceptional and among the best in its category.
Innovative design, advanced technology
Verve is based on Elan 3 and Magus. The glider with 67 cells uses the technology of fully reinforced profiles using nitinol rods. Thanks to the combination of light fabrics and nitinol reinforcement, we achieved a very low weight of the canopy. Details play a key role and that is why the nitinol rods are featured with firmly fused end caps. The Verve is the first MAC PARA serial produced glider to be equipped with winglets. This choice brought high lateral stability when flying at high speeds, which contributed to improving glider’s performance. The result is a very stable, balanced and comfortable two-liner, easy to pilot.
Glider character and performance
Due to its light construction, the Verve excels with its take-offs, which is unique in the EN C two-liner category. In thermals and turbulence, the canopy is reasonably compact and provides precise feedback on airborne conditions. The glider convinces with a high level of stability in the entire speed range and its glide is comparable to that of the Magus glider. In accelerated mode, the Verve remains stable and intelligible. Winglets reduce the need for directional corrections in turbulent air and thus increase the glider's stability and performance during accelerated flight.
Evaluations from certification confirm the character and safety of the Verve. The glider is an ideal choice even for pilots who want to upgrade from the Hi-End B segment.
Low weight and easy take-off
As a light performance glider, the Verve is suitable for Hike&Fly flying. Thanks to the well-thought-out structure of the canopy and lightweight materials is taking-off with the Verve easy. The size of the air intakes was purposefully designed for easy launches. Even by zero wind conditions the filling of the canopy is smooth over the entire span and the canopy rises easily over the head. In stronger winds, the pitching is easily controllable. This is where the Verve clearly stands out from its competitors. The behavior of the canopy during extreme maneuvers is clear and predictable.
Tuned to perfection
The Verve is consistently tuned to perfection with careful 3D shaping of the panels, which increases aerodynamic cleanliness and, together with the new shape of the stabilizers, contribute to reducing drag and increasing performance. The number of cells and their shaping, the diagonal system, the geometry of lines - everything has been optimized for the correct rigidity of the canopy, providing stability and pleasant flight comfort in active air.
Effective control
The handling is pleasant with an immediate response to the movement of the toggle, without the need to support the outer side of the canopy. The angle of the turn can be pleasantly "adjusted", using a small correction of the toggle's position. Of course, in strong or broken thermals, active piloting is a required. The pitching is easy to read without the need for major interventions in the steering lines and enables very good climbing in the thermals. Verve handles both weaker, stronger or demanding thermal conditions easily and efficiently. The range of required inputs for normal thermal flying is quite short and the forces in the control lines are low to moderate. The steering forces increase progressively during the next pull and offer a sufficient safety margin. Controlling the angle of attack using the B straps allows the experienced pilot to achieve a higher average speed when flying in turbulent air. The control via the B-straps is intuitive and quickly earns the pilot's confidence. Surprisingly for a two-liner, big ears are easy to perform.
Who is the Verve for?
The Verve is suitable for frequent flyers with XC ambitions who possess a high level of glider control skills. Suitable for the pilot who wants dynamic, precision and agility in control from his glider, while offering high safety margins.
For many of us, the best at the end...
The glider can be easily packed in a Certina bag or in a transport bag. And it doesn't really matter what. The glider can be folded like in the old days. You can leave the cell by cell packing to others. If you don't treat the nitinol strings too harshly, the next time you take off the glider will look just as off as new. That's what nitinol is all about.
